Musician and artist for the day, John Lennon.

“Lennon came to view his life as a work of art in which every act shimmered with potential meaning for the world at large. It was a Messianic attitude, to be sure, but one that was tempered by an innate inclusiveness and generosity. If he saw himself as larger than life, he also yearned for a world in which his ego managed at once to absorb everyone else and dissolve all differences among people, leaving a Zen-like tranquility and calm. “You may say I’m a dreamer, but I’m not the only one,” he sang in “Imagine,” which has become his best-known song and an international anthem of peace. “I hope someday you’ll join us, and the world will live as one.” (2012, EMI Group Limited)

Here is his song “Imagine”.

“I know these hills, I used to walk here as a child” - Diane Victor

“Diane Victor is somewhat like a spring, tightly coiled, tiny and capable of great power. Physically she travels light perhaps as a counterpoint to the weight of the issues that she deals with in her work. She prefers imagery to words and the strength of her visual eloquence hits one in the gut and takes one’s breath away”. (The Artists’ Press)

Kona vs. Sitter Finally

Happy Sunday Funday! Yesterday was my last full day keeping KonaBear. I think it was the best day of them all. Sitting Kona for the weekend started out bumpy, but by the end things came together. Not much went on yesterday. I did the usual feeding, walking, and sitting. She did make a mess of the house, so I decided to vacuum and sweep before Amy got back in town (I love you AMY!). As far as the points go, I think I earned a point by getting home in time to get Kona in before another storm came…I will not let another storm rain on Kona’s parade ever again under my watch! HA-HA! I have to say, Kona was a true joy to keep. She is the sweetest dog in the world and I love her to pieces.

Any-who…I hope that my first full story on my first blog was good for you all to read. I like to ramble and talk, so hopefully this blog will be good for me. I know I probably made a few grammar mistakes, but I’m only human. Plus it takes practice to be good at something. I hope that everyone has a lovely Sunday!

Kona vs. Sitter Day 2

Hello, Hello!

Day two of sitting the KonaBear, and I have to say that it was good. I headed out for work around 8:00am and didn’t get off until 5:00pm. I put Kona in the fenced in back yard during my time at work. The good thing about fenced in back yards is Kona can’t really mess up anything…..so I’m going to give myself a point for that move. When I got back home from work I feed Kona and took her for a walk. It all worked wonderfully. After the walk I had made plans to go see the movie “The Watch” with one of my friend Christi. By the way, the movie was great! The only problem was an unexpected thunderstorm came up during the movie. I noticed it from the loud banging of thunder and rain sounding through the movie…yeap it was a bad storm. In my mind I started to freak out about Kona being outside to the point of being uncomfortable. I mean she has a little doghouse out in the yard for her to be protected, and sometimes these storms pop up while Amy and I are at work. It’s defiantly not Kona’s first time of getting a little wet…or a lot of wet…

Anyway, after the movie I rushed back and saw Kona pacing back and forth in the rain. She is probably thinking, good one sitter…you got me this time. I was just glad to see that she was all right. When I got her in the house I dried her off really well and held her for a bit. The rest of the night was lovely. I laid out Kona a pallet for her to sleep on. My friend Christi came over and we watched a movie while hearing the thunder pounding…it was the perfect movie night. Kona and I were relaxing and started to really enjoy each other. I have to say, this sitting job may not have been a bad idea after all.

Kona vs. Sitter

Good morning to all! Today is the 27th of August. I wanted to share my rant about my duties for the weekend…I may have gotten myself in a pickle. My best friend in the world, Amy, asked if I could babysit her dog Kona, so she could go to the beach. I accepted because I love Amy’s dog, I mean I’m technically the aunt. So yesterday was the start of my weekend as a pet owner…HOORAY! Around 6:30pm, I drove over to the house to feed and walk Kona. When I pulled up in the driveway, the wag of Kona’s tail made me feel so loved (Or it meant that Kona knew what she had planned for me). Kona is the cutes dog in the world and a little awkward, which works because I can relate to the awkwardness. Well the feeding part was easy, but the walking/fetch part was a different story. I assumed that I could take Kona outside without her leash to play fetch because Amy did that all the time, I mean how hard could it be? Well here I go outside with no leashed Kona, she dashes out the door and spots a squirrel…OMG! Kona was across the road in the neighbors yard running the squirrel around a tree. KONA!…KONA!… Clearly she knows that I’m not Amy, but a sitter. My command was nonexistent in this dog’s brain! I franticly walked over and grabbed Kona by the collar to lead her in the house. I caught myself mumbling at Kona thinking she would understand every word I was saying, obviously she can’t comprehend so she is giving me this confused look. Alright! Attempt number one failed miserably, time for attempt number two. This time I put Kona on a leash and decided to just take her for a walk. The walk worked beautifully. It was what happened after the walk that made the day end with Kona winning by a point. I decided to take a nap after because I was exhausted, and before I closed my eyes Kona was napping too. When I woke up, the den was in shambles. Kona had torn a magazine up and strode it everywhere, but it wasn’t the magazine that made me freak, it was the remote to the TV. She made the remote her chew toy….WTF! How was I going to explain this to Amy? I wasn’t furious as I thought I would have been because Kona had played a quick one on me, and I was to slow to stop her…..Well that’s day one of the Kona vs. Sitter series. Can’t wait to see what happens next!

P.S. Amy I will buy you a new remote:)

Okay people!…….This is not a hold up but my version of a StarWars sword fight! Just go with it, it’s the best I could do. ECU’S bookstore doesn’t let us play with toys or have real live laser swords. It’s kinda lame.
